Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen debuted their Fall 2012 Collection of The Row at New York's Bemelmans Bar in the Carlyle Hotel. The collection was inspired by Post War Weathly Americans in the 1940's. The use of light weight fabric really enhanced the "droop like" look of most of the collection. The collection also featured beautifully constructed and designed leather and fur jackets screaming 1940's glamour. The only surprising element of the collection were the gladiator sandels the models wore during the Fall Collection... strange or genious. You be the judge.
To quote Sara Mower from www.vogue.com, "There’s a quirkiness in what they do, that causes the viewer to look twice at what’s going on." "It’s strange to think that designers as young as Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen might be the next successors to a great American tradition of super-luxe fashion—the culture of classy reductionism handed down from the likes of Bill Blass, Calvin Klein, and Michael Kors."
