Have Fun This Summer With Mixing Patterns

Mixing Patterns and Patterns in general are a huge trend for this Spring and Summer and now that the weather in Toronto has finally decided to act like Spring/Summer you won't feel like such a fool wearing your favourite bold pattern/print.  (Trust me this happened to me last week, walking around in white jeans and neon in 5 degree weather isn't ideal.)  I am a huge pattern wearer all year round, however in Spring/Summer it just seems more fun, especially with all the fun wedges, heels, and sandals that are out there.  The rule of thumb when mixing patterns is that there isn't really any, it's a true refection of your personality and personal style.
With that being said, here are a couple of tips and tricks:
1) For a bold look - use contrasting colours within the patterns.
2) For a more subtle look - use colours from the same colour families.
3) Mix and Match - mix polka-dots with strips.
4) Have fun!

Disney 'Couture de Minnie' by OPI is a Must for Summer

As most of you know I am obsessed with Minnie Mouse and when I saw an ad for 'Couture de Minnie' by OPI flipping through the Spring/Summer Issue of Fashion Magazine I had to read more into it.  So, what did I learn?  Well... This isn't Minnie Mouse's first OPI Collection; last summer the 'Vintage Minnie Mouse' Collection was created and clearly was a huge hit since this summer another collection is being released.  This Collection consisted of 4 pink shades including: Nothin' Mousie 'Bout It, I'm All Ears, If You Moust You Moust, and The Color of Minnie.  Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director was quoted saying “This year, OPI is exploring a different side of Minnie Mouse. The Couture de Minnie collection draws inspiration from Minnie’s iconic style and incorporates trends most recently seen on the runways, from standout shades to fun textural elements.
The 'Couture de Minnie' Collection is available in 4 shades of red and pink and 1 sparkly one, which can be worn over top of any of the 4 solid colours.  The colours include, and can be seen below, A Definite Moust Have, Chic From Ears to Tail, Innie Minnie Mighty Bow, Minnie Style, and Magazine Cover Mouse.
The Collection will be available in professional beauty stores June 2013, so keep your eyes pealed for the display below so you can get your hands on some of these fab colours!  Honestly, would doesn't want to wear a little bit of Minnie Mouse?

Check out the waist on Khloe Kardashian...

Khloe Kardashian has been looking outstanding recently.  Whether being in LA, NYC, or over-seas she has been taking advantage of every oportunity to show off her newly slimmed down bod.  Yesterday, Khloe was seen leaving her NYC Hotel wearing a black, sheer-hem detailed Alexander Wang tank dress with Giuseppe Zanotti Matte Black Leather Gold-Studded 'Alien' Booties, over-sized gold earrings, straight ombre dyed hair, simple eye makeup, and matching red lip and manicure.  Today Khloe was seen leaving Live with Kelly and Michael in NYC wearing a bold printed multi-coloured Clover Canyon body-con dress with Jimmy Choo Letitia platform sandals, Givenchy Antigona clutch, pin-straight hair, the same red manicure, lightly tinted lip, and natural eye makeup.  Whatever Khloe is doing can she tell me so I can look as fab as her?  Keep up the good work girl!

Online Shopping Haul via Sephora, Pacifica Perfume, and Amazon

Since being a part of the Beauty/Fashion Blogging community I have read and heard a lot about the brand Clarisonic.  Being a sucker for great reviews I had to get my hands on one and try it for myself.  So, I went on the Sephora website and ordered me one.  So what is Clarisonic?  It is a brand of travel-friendly, handheld cleansing brushes for your face and body.  This professional-grade tool helps with the removal of makeup, leaves skin feeling/looking smoother, unclogs and minimises pores, and reduces dry, oily, and blemished skin.

I ended up purchasing the original Clarisonic Mia Skin Cleansing System from Sephora.com, which cost $139.00 before taxes.  This included the Mia one-speed brush, charger for worldwide outlets, a 1 oz bottle of their Refreshing Gel Cleanser, and one brush head.  The product is extremely simple to use, all that is required is applying the same amount of face cleanser ususally used directly onto your skin or on the brush and work into damp skin.  Once lathered into your skin, wash off like usual.  This tool is gentle enough to be used twice a day.  I have yet to use it however, I am extremely excited to start!  I have only heard AMAZING reviews.

As usual, I received 5 samples with my purchase. 1) Soap and Glory The Righteous Body Butter 2) Josie Maran Argan Matchmaker Serum Foundation 3) BECCA Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector 4) Shiseido Nourishing Mascara Base 5) A booklet of Sephora's Spring/Summer Perfumes, which included Versace, Marc Jacobs, and Chloe to name a few.

After receiving a Pacifica Tuscan Blood Orange Body Butter Sample in one of my monthly Ipsy Bags, I literally fell in love and couldn't leave my house without wearing this lotion.  So with my Ipsy coupon I visited Pacificaperfume.com and went on a mini shopping-spree.  Here's what I bought!

1) Four full sized tubes of Pacifica Body Butter ($15.00) in Island Vanilla, Brazilian Mango Grapefruit, Tuscan Blood Orange (obviously), and Indian Coconut Nectar.  Honestly, these are the best smelling and formulated butters I may have ever used.  The non-greasy, highly moisturising, and Paraben-Free formula is possible by using Shea Butter, Safflower Oils, and Almond Oils, just to name a few.  Honestly, you need to pick some up and right now they have an additional 30% off sale on a wide range of scents, visit www.pacificaperfume.com for more information! (Please note I am unsure when this promo ends, sorry.)

2) Purify Coconut Water Cleansing Wipes ($6.00) - These natural, biodegradable wipes are perfect for removing makeup, quickly cleansing your body after a session at the gym, or on the go/travelling.  Made with Coconut Oils, Papaya, Aloe Vera, and Water.  3) Two Pacifica Solid Perfume Samples in Island Vanilla and Spanish Amber - These are amazing for travel and to keep in your handbag for touch ups.  They retail for $9 and are made from Coconut Wax and are Phthalate-Free.  4) Color Quench Lip Tint in Sugared Fig - Perfect for protecting and providing a slight tint to your lips at the same time.  Made with Coconut Oil and Natural Minerals, this lip product is 100% Vegan and usually retails for $7 each, however I received it free as a special promotion for spending a certain dollar amount.

Lastly, I finally purchased the Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque ($28), as all my YouTube friends HIGHLY recommend this product.  I did however have an extremely hard time finding this product in both Canada and the US and had to purchase it online from Amazon.ca.  The deep conditioner is a hair re-constructor that uses Macadamia and Argan Oils to rebuild damaged hair and improve shine and elasticity.  Perfect for an end of the week treatement!
