Isabel Marant Spring 2014 #PFW

"Isabel Marant's show sound track opened with Kate Bush's 'Wuthering Heights' and closed with Iggy Pop's 'Lust For Life', and there basically you have it, her story for spring; fragile, gauzy, dreamy romanticism taking a tumble with down and dirty leather-clad rockerdom. This colliding of two worlds is just how it should be, and where Marant is at her very best; a somewhat soft-core prettiness played up by virtue of the fact that it is being played down with a knowing and empowering sexiness. It's her territory, and nobody does it better, despite the attempts of legions of imitators." - vogue.com

Hermès Spring 2014 #PFW

"After a Fall collection that spectacularly starred a Frenchwoman on a rendezvous with romance, Christophe Lemaire took Hermès into the jungle for Spring. He's not the first designer to inject steam heat into his show this week, but given last season's scenario, it was hard to resist the notion that Lemaire's woman was on the run now, hiding in Brazil or Vietnam from her love gone wrong.  Lemaire's big influence was Henri Rousseau, the Frenchman who painted jungles without ever having seen them. The pendulous flora of Rousseau's work were duplicated in the print that opened the show, with boots to match. The artist's dark jungle green colored tops, shifts, crocodile culottes, and a wrapped leather coat. It was, in fact, color that marched this collection on: mulberry, teal, sky blue, sunset orange—intense shades that were new to Lemaire's formerly neutral world. He applied them to long fluid shapes, ideal for a woman who values anonymity above all else. The mulberry jumpsuit paired with flip-flops? No chance anyone on the run will attract attention in that."  - style.com

Guy Laroche Spring 2014 #PFW

"Marcel Marongiu, Guy Laroche's Artistic Director, drew upon the mystery and simplicity of androgynous fashion for his Spring/Summer 2014 RTW runway show in Paris on September 25th 2013. The silky and billowy garments in the collection were all equally elegant and sophisticated and shared the distinctly chic design aesthetic Laroche is known for. Soft greys and nudes dominated the collection with the occasional splash of black, white and yellow! The collection was a huge hit with guests in attendance and is already warranting shinning reviews from bloggers all over the world." - fashionandbeautyinc.blogspot.ca

Givenchy Spring 2014 #PFW

"The women borrowed from the boys at Givenchy's Spring 2014 show — and not in the way you'd expect. Taking a page from Riccardo Tisci's most recent menswear collection, the runway was strong with tribal inspiration, which extended to global prints, draped silhouettes, feathers, and often masks. But while the guys wore face paint back in June, these coverings had a more elegant spin with sparkle, which made for an edgy accent to the label's dynamic eveningwear." - fashionologie.com

October IPSY Bag

It's October IPSY Bag time, one of my favourite times of the month!  I really enjoyed this bag and couldn't wait to start using the products I received.  I was also so excited to share it with all of you, and I couldn't wait for my October TopBox to get here to post this post.  This month the theme was 'The Art of Beauty', which by the products I received I don't really understand why but oh well :)  I did love the makeup bag it came in though, what an amazing quote, "Love of beauty is taste. The creation of beauty is art" so cute! So, without further ado on with the bag!
