White House Correspondents Dinner 2012

The A-List clearly made themselves present at this year's Correspondent's Dinner, help on Saturday April 28th at the White House.  Celebs from Chase Crawford to Kate Upton, walked the red carpet and enjoy dinner with an elite guest list.  Since we've been experiencing a Red Carpet Dry Spell, I was so excited to share my Best and Worst Dressed, celeb gatherings are nothing with a red carpet.

BEST DRESSED

Charlize Theron was elegant in an Emilio Pucci gown, Manolo Blahnik's and a Judith Leiber clutch.

Kate Hudson stunned in a Jenny Packham longed sleeve sequined gown.

Eva Longoria kept it flirty in a Marchesa dress, Brian Atwood pumps and an Emilio Pucci clutch.

Reese Witherspoon glowed in her black Monique Lhuiller gown.

Kim Kardashian kept it simple in a velvet, embellished body conscious Johanna Johnson gown.

WORST DRESSED

Zooey Deschanel wore a Oscar de la Renta gown, which did not accentuate the starlets figure.

Claire Danes bored in a Vivienne Westwood dress.

Dakota Fanning played it safe in a Prada dress and handbag and Guiseppe Zanotti shoes.

Shocking News from Betsey Johnson

Since first hitting the Fashion Scene in 1978, Betsey Johnson has become a popular house hold name in the US and Canada.  Manufacturing rock and roll, over the top, vibrant party girl outfits, Betsey really changed the world of fashion as we know it.  Her outrageous runway shows and store designs really show who she is and what her brand stands for.  With that said, it is sad for me to say that on Thursday April 25th, Johnson filed for Bankruptcy.  Within the next couple of months, the majority of her 63 stores will be shutting down and therefore leaving more than 300 employees stranded without jobs.  Betsey made a statement saying "I feel so sad for my store people and all my pink girls. They live and die for me. But I need to be better. I really need to work well and be more efficient".  With deals just signed to start a reality show, it will be interesting to see if any of this will be shown...

The future of Betsey Johnson is unknown, however I can hope that the Fashion Veteran can get herself out of this mess and continue growing the Betsey Johnson brand.

Kristen Stewart Elle UK's Cover Girl

I usually do not like Kristen Stewart, there is just something about her that I can't put my finger on that bothers me.  But the actress completely blew me away with her June Elle UK cover.  Stewart wore a Jil Sander white knit dress and 60's inspired bouffant hair.  With her version of Snow White to hit theatres this summer with Charlize Theron, Stewart is really stepping up her game and showing a different style and maturity that I am really digging!

Cameron Diaz - Harper's Bazaar UK

Cameron Diaz does not look a day over 30 on the June 2012 cover of UK Harper's Bazaar.  The 39 year old actress graces the cover in a pale yellow Calvin Klein slinky dress and sexy disheveled hair.  What do you think of Diaz's cover?

New Trend - Stackable Bracelets

On topic with my last post, a new trend has hit the fashion world hard.  Celebrities, bloggers, fashion royalty and everyday people like you and me have all jumped on and have taken this trend to new levels, depending on their personal style and taste.  Everyone loves bracelets, whether it be beaded, coloured, thick, thin, textured, wooden, etc., I think you get the point, but the problem is always which one/two to wear... Well with the stacking bracelet trend, the hard thinking and decisions are so yesterday.  This trend allows you to mix and match different colours, textures, styles and thicknesses together to create a cohesive look from pairing a variety of different bracelets.  The nice part about this trend is that it doesn't matter what your budget is, whether high or low, there is something for everyone.  From Saks Fifth Avenue to Forever 21, trendy accessories are so easy and accessible to find these days that there's no excuse to not participate.  Have a look at some of the pictures below and above for inspiration and get creative with this trend.  Leave your comments and pictures below :)

           

Recent Accessory Addiction - Pop of Chic

With my recent addition in full swing, I am finding it harder and harder to steer myself away from purchasing accessories, especially with all of these amazing websites.  My recent soft spot is for Pop of Chic.  After learning about this fab accessories website from my girl at Fash Boulevard, I have found myself on the website daily, waiting and hoping for new arrivals to purchase.  Pop of Chic's mix of amazing trends at amazing prices is what really got me hooked... paying $20 for a ring or $22 for earrings is super reasonable and it is nice to know that not everyone around me is going to have it, unlike shopping at H&M or Forever 21 (don't get me wrong I shop there too).  Check out below the pieces I've already bought from Pop of Chic and click them to shop the look.  Don't forget to click the Pop of Chic link to check out there website!

Kim K's NYC Style - April 2012

It seems that wherever Kim goes, great style follows.  I will admit she is one of my best dressed celebrities, but I find that when she goes to NYC she always steps it up.  I don't know if it is the different atmosphere than LA but she is always dressed to the nines, night or day.  Check out some of my favs from her most recent trip to the Big Apple.  I am loving the fun flirty looks and her shoes are (always) to die for.

How Cute are Kim and Kanye...

Kim and Kanye have recently been seen around NYC a lot.  At first it was innocent and "just friends" but with these new photos of the two holding hands and touching, it is obvious that they are more than "just friends".  Personally I like them together, I think they are really cute and quite perfect for each other.  Does that mean that this will last and be the end to Kim's fairy tale?  I guess well just have to wait and find out...

After quite the year, Beyonce has wound up on People's Most Beautiful list.  And man oh man she is fitting the title perfectly.  Looking flawless on the cover and inside spread, Beyonce is really prooving how beautiful a women can look after having a baby!  How gorgeous does she look?

Tyra Responds to ANTM Firings

After my post regarding the Firing of Nigel, Mrs. Jay and Jay Manuel from ANTM the other day, which you can see here.  Miss Tyra Banks has responded and tried to clear the air as to why she made such a drastic change to the show.  Stating that " that "the show just needs a new boost".  "It's very difficult because I love my guys. I mean, they're my guys.  However, it wasn't a shock," she continued. "There had been a discussion that ratings were down and that something like this would happen."  In conclusion she said "They'll still be there because my partner Ken Mok and I, we have projects that we're developing, and we're a family,  so it doesn't end."  What do you guys think?  With top model be the same without them, and do you think they will get the rating boast that these firings intended on?  I guess well just have to wait until next season to find out.

Whoo Hoo Digital Dreams Music Festival is coming to Toronto

Dinner with my girlfriend Nicole is also fun and an adventure.  A) Neither one of us have good luck with cooking and B) Wine is always involved.  Well dinner was delish and the wine was definitely flowing.  Over dinner she mentioned this upcoming festival in Toronto over Canada Day weekend.  Not really knowing much about it I checked the line up and agreed to go, purchasing my ticket and everything right then and there.  Let's be honest how could I say no to Pool Party's, Concerts and Dancing all with friends.  But now is the hard part... the waiting game.  How am I going to be patient until the weekend of June 30th / July 1st.

With the first portion of the Line Up released (shown above) and with guests Afrojack, Duck Sauce, Kaskade and Atrack it should be an amazing weekend.  I can't wait until they release the second set of the lineup!  If you're in the Toronto area over Canada Day weekend and you are interested in attending or looking for something to do, click here to purchase tickets.

Congrats to 2 Happy Couples Expecting

Over the weekend I heard some amazing news that Giuliana Rancic and her husband Bill are expecting their first child together.  After a long and public run of not being able to get pregnant the couple finally shared that they will be expecting via surrogate later this year.  The great news is that although Giuliana won't be giving birth herself, the child will still be their biological child.  I can't wait to see their journey continue.

Other baby news heard yesterday, Megan Fox and hubby Brian Austin Green will also be expecting their first child together.  Neither Fox,  nor Green have made a comment, however E! News feels they have a good source and the story is true.  If so, congrats to the two of you.  Your child will be gorgeous whether its a boy or girl.

Recent H&M Mini Shopping Spree

Over the weekend I decided to check out H&M, as I had a 20% off coupon which expired yesterday and I hadn't be in for a while, since I purchased the Floral Cropped Pant, which you can see here.  Well, am I ever glad I went in, they had so much cute stuff.  It was too bad I went in so close to closing, leaving me only 30 minutes to conquer the store.  Since I am such a colour driven shopper, I was immediately drawn to the products that were bright in colour.  Well my quick trip turned into an expensive one, leaving with over $175.00 worth of goodies... don't get me wrong I bought a lot of stuff but was just do unexpected.  So what did I end up purchasing...

I won't lie I am so excited to start wearing all of it, I'm even wearing my blazer today because I couldn't wait to wear it. (Even though the weather is horrible today, SNOW in late April... really?)  I strongly suggest hitting up your closest H&M to see what goodies you can find... with Summer around the corner (hopefully) I'm sure it is time to update your wardrobe, isn't it always?

ANTM Judges Fired...

With Cycle 18 of America's Next Top Model half over and Cycle 19 in the works, Miss Banks decided to make some serious changes for the upcoming season of ANTM.  I am saddened, and concerned for the future of ANTM, to announce that Mrs. Jay, Nigel and Jay Manuel have all been fired.  Sources claim that their contracts were not renewed because of a "Production Decision" to freshen up the show due to a drastic decrease in the shows ratings this season.  Nigel graciously tweeted, "@tyrabanks best of luck with cycle 19, It has been a pleasure working with you the past 8 years. Much love Nigel".

So, with these recent changes to the show, will you be watching next season?  Cause personally I don't know if I will be, all three of them really made the show and helped with its success!
