Balenciaga Fall 2012 - Paris Fashion Week

Nicolas Ghesquière, Balenciaga's creative director, took a very interesting and unique way to showcase his Fall 2012 Collection, using his real employees as models.  He also staged the runway show 27 floors up in one of Paris' skyscrapers.  Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, the house's architect, took months to perfect the image Ghesquière wanted to achieve.  The collection featured new loosely fitting shapes with lightweight materials, which allowed the drape-like effect.  Also, over sized coats, sweaters, hips and sleeves helped create interesting shapes and fits.  Bold colours and Graphic Prints, such as "JOIN A WEIRD TRIP" and "OUT OF THE BLUE made a major creative and visual influence in the overall look and feel of the collection.
