Matthew Williamson Fall 2013 - LFW

"Although Matthew Williamson has long been known for translating memories of far-flung sojourns into colorful inspiration for his Bohemian-feel runway collections, the starting point for fall came from closer to home. An old battered sofa covered in a tapestry of fading roses that had been beloved for many years felt fresh again once he’d moved into a new apartment in North London, and swiftly became the collection’s underlying theme. Recreated here in heftily woven jacquard coats and skirts, which had been overlaid with neon embroidery and beading, the fabric for Williamson “really embodied the idea of a quintessential British girl in winter.” - vogue.com
