Jennifer Lawrence is re-vamped for Marie Claire South Africa

More recyced pictures fashionably bring in 2013!  This time Marie Claire South Africa reused Jennifer Lawrence's photo from a spread and cover of Interview Magazine back in April 2012 (which you can see to the right) for their January 2013 issue (which you can see to the left).  For the cover of Marie Claire they seemed to have added a filter to the picture and darkened Lawrence's makeup, making a more dramatic delivery.  Jennifer is wearing a gorgeous metallic cut-out Giles mini and Chanel jewelley.  The cover is gorgeous I am just curious how they were able to use an image from a completely different magazine.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Magazines are guilty for re-using photos all the time from one country's edition to another, however it is becoming more and more frequent and noticeable lately.  I understand companies are trying to cut costs and by using images that have already been shot, approved, and edited saves both time and money, but it is becoming less and less fun when covers are reveled every month since there isn't as many fresh new images being seen.  What do you think of reusing images?  Yay or Nay?
Candice Swanepoel may be one of the highest sot after models right now and still a compete duplicate cover was released, you'd think with such a large portfolio and selection of images they could have gone with something else.  Candice covered the September 2012 issue of Elle Brazil and then only 4 months later was re-toned for the Elle South Africa January 2013 issue.  Swanepoel looks gorgeous and I'm sure they thought most people wouldn't notice this duplicate cover but they should have known the fashion obsessed would find out their dirty little secret.
Kate Hudson covered the Harper's Bazaar US October issue and was then recycled for the December issue of Harper's Bazaar Czech Republic.  Thinking once is never enough they reused yet another image from the October spread and made it the cover for Harper's Bazaar Russia January 2013 issue.  Don't get me wrong the Camilla Akrans image is gorgeous and makes for a great cover but something fresh and new would have been more fitting to ring in the new year with.

Naked & Naked 2 Palettes

I have been posting, reading, and thinking about the Urban Decay Naked and Naked 2 palettes for quite some time now and finally caved and purchased both of them from Sephora.  I have been using them throughout the holiday season and man oh man and I happy with my purchases!  Each palette is $60 and consists of a makeup brush and 12 different eye shadows.  As a bonus the Naked palette came with the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion, which is the best thing since sliced bread, and the Naked 2 palette came with Urban Decay Lip Junkie Cools+Plumps.  These palettes are amazing for every day or for a more dramatic look at night.  Apply with the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion for a more pigmented full colour or without for a more sheer colour you will never run out of combinations make from these palettes.  I can promise you that however you choose to wear these shadows, you will not be disappointed.

The Naked Palette comes in a magnetic closure cardboard case, with velvet outer shell and mini mirror inside.  The single ended all over shadow brush is perfect for more detailed work or for all over colour. Colours from Left to Right - Virgin, Sin, Naked, Sidecar, Buck, Half Baked, Smog, Darkhorse, Toasted, Hustle, Creep, and Gunmetal

The Naked 2 Palette is a metal case with snap like closure and large mirror.  This case is more travel friendly and the oversized mirror is ideal for on-the-go.  The double ended shadow brush features a crease brush on one end and all over shadow brush on the other.  Colours from Left to Right - Foxy, Half Baked, Bootycall, Chopper, Tease, Snakebite, Suspect, Pistol, Verve, Yok, Busted, and Blackout.

From Left to Right - Urban Decay Lip Junkie Cools+Plumps and Urban Decay Eyeshadow Printer Potion

I also received a free Philosophy set which included sample sized products including Living Grave perfume, Purity shampoo, body wash, and bubble bath, and Take a Deep Breath face cleanser.  For the girl who LOVES Philosophy products this was a no brain-er.

Benefit - Go Tropicoral

I have been eying the new Benefit sets that they introduced this season, and their cute travel inspired themes.  So when I received the Benefit Go Tropicoral set as a Christmas gift from one of my sistas I was so excited.  Peachy blush, highlighted dewy sun kissed skin, and rosey lips are the perfect winter accessories, while craving the beach!  Perfect for travel or everyday, the Go Tropicoral Benefit set is a must for every beauty obsessed fashionista out there.

The set came with four sample sized products and a little booklet on some tips and tricks of using the products included in the Go Tropicoral set.  First is the Cha Cha Tint liquid blush, which is a vibrant peach colour that when rubbed in gives the perfect amount of pigment to my cheeks.  I have been really interested in trying a liquid blush but didn't want to buy a full sized one encase I didn't like the product, so this is perfect!!  Next, is the Coralista face power, which is the perfect finishing touches to the Cha Cha Tint.  The power will help set the liquid blush and also even out any colour.  This light peachy pink colour will add colour and the perfect amount of shimmer, keeping a natural, young, fresh face.  The travel sized powder brush makes applying a sinch.

Third, is the High Beam liquid face highlighter that has an easy applicator brush.  This highlighter is perfect for eyes, nose, cheeks, cupids bow, and temples; with a quite swipe of the brush and a couple of dabs with your fingers, your face goes from dull to glow.  The final product is the Ultra Plush Coralista coloured lip gloss.  No look is complete without a pouty lip and this coral colour will be perfect throughout the winter and into the spring/summer.

Pink's Cover Girl Commercial

As the newest addition to the Cover Girl family, Pink's Clump Crusher Mascara Commercial has finally been launched.  Being her first Cover Girl Commercial, Pink looks amazing and especially since giving birth to her baby girl just over a year ago!  I am highly impressed!
