Mixing Patterns and Patterns in general are a huge trend for this Spring and Summer and now that the weather in Toronto has finally decided to act like Spring/Summer you won't feel like such a fool wearing your favourite bold pattern/print. (Trust me this happened to me last week, walking around in white jeans and neon in 5 degree weather isn't ideal.) I am a huge pattern wearer all year round, however in Spring/Summer it just seems more fun, especially with all the fun wedges, heels, and sandals that are out there. The rule of thumb when mixing patterns is that there isn't really any, it's a true refection of your personality and personal style.
With that being said, here are a couple of tips and tricks:
1) For a bold look - use contrasting colours within the patterns.
2) For a more subtle look - use colours from the same colour families.
3) Mix and Match - mix polka-dots with strips.
4) Have fun!
