Pink Tartan is one of the most anticipated shows at World MasterCard Fashion Week and Kim Newport-Mimron, President and Head Designer, did not disappoint! Her very American Horror Story/Hitchcock-esk Fall 2013 Collection embodied disturbing blonds while using the techniques and craftsmanship Pink Tartan is known for. Newport-Mimran was quoted saying "I always start designing a new collection with a muse. I envision her, her life, and then I dress her up. My muse this season embodied my favourite disturbing blonds - Constance Langdon (American Horror Story) and Marnie Edgar (Hitchcock Actress). Beautifully dressed sophisticated blonds, but there is something underlying that you cant quite put your finger on. This collection is all about rich lux fabric - very Pink Tartan - a return to pulled together looks with a dark twist. As Hitchcock says ' Blonds make better victims'." The collection was full of beautiful pieces including numerous fur collars and scarves, suits and separates, prints, a-line coats, dropped shoulders, pleated skirts, and bold bright, jewel tone, and neutral colours. It was a very WOW collection and was hard to have a favourite, but the fuchsia cape with contrast black fur collar was my all time favourite. Hello!!! A must for the upcoming Fall Season.
