Sarah Burton showcased her Resort 2013 Collection for Alexander McQueen and once again captivated viewers and did not disappoint. The collection went in a different direction than McQueen's usual dramatic dresses and designs. She was quoted saying that she "wanted to bring everything back to the body" for this collection, and that she did! Incorporating a lot of suits and waist clenching dresses, jackets and pants. Burton's main influences were David Bowie's 70's style and painter Gustav Klimt specially influences the metallic fabrics and vibrant patterns used.
It's too bad rumors of a Couture Collection was in the works was quickly cleared up by informing that there was no talks of this happening. I guess all we can do is wait for the Spring/Summer shows coming up.
