"Slimane's Saint Laurent woman has always had an edge, but this season she's unapologetically a bad girl, wearing leather leggings with cutouts all the way up the thighs; a black leather dress slit up to her undies, assuming she's even bothered to wear any; and ripped and shredded tights above black leather ankle boots. The shoes were killer, but those tights veered dangerously close to cliché. And they distracted form the fine workmanship (one of Slimane's secret weapons) that defined a lot of what we saw tonight. Number like black and gold polka-dot beaded one-sleeve cocktail dress or a strapless style crisscrossed with zippers, a tulle crumb catcher frilling out from the bust. Alongside the haute stuff, of which there was more than ever, there were a good number of the kind of animal-print capes, navy peacoats, leather motorcycle jackets, and patchwork furs he's been showing since his YSL beginnings two-and-a-half years ago, and that have been turning up with increasing frequency all over the crowds at fashion month and beyond." - style.com

Giambattista Valli Fall 2015 #RTW #PFW

We already know Giambattista Valli can give good mood board, but today there was simply a serene set of tantric images on his wall, matching the design in the thick pile that carpeted his show space. It might have been an index of his state of mind rather than the state of his collection, because it was less serenity than solidity that impressed with his clothes. There was something very upholstery-like about his graphic prints, patterns, and textures. You could picture a world of contemporary Roman interiors circa 1966. And the ruffles and puffed shoulders and bands of sheen might have been the sort of details that would have spiced up the wardrobes of a women in that era." - style.com

Zuhair Murad Fall 2015 #RTW #PFW

"Rather than any real-life celebrity, Zuhair Murad's muse for Fall was a fictional snow queen. Yes, he's a Frozen fan. But adapting a Disney film to an adult clientele is not without its challenges, even for a designer inextricably linked to fairy-tale gowns. using one of his signature techniques - intricate embroideries on illusion tulle - Murad developed dimensional icicle geometries and crystals formed from (what else?) crystals. The shattered motif, in particular, brought more edge to his standby cocktail dresses and jumpsuits, especially when applied with considerations of negative and positive space. Rendered as a print, it proved quite wearable, but then so did the comparatively structured bell-shaped black dress in glossy satin overlaid with tulle de soie. There is no denying the workmanship in Murad's dresses; what's more, the icy theme kept him focused, both in terms of palette and pattern." - style.com

Givenchy Fall 2015 #RTW #PFW
"Tisci's done septum rings before, but tonight's face jewelry was at anther level, and it was one side of the designer's Fall mash-up. 'Victorian-chola girl,' is how he described the collection, and, as usual, it was a deeply personal trip. Many of the details here were things he's touched on in previous collection. The subtle Catholic cross stitched into the bodice of a dress, the cosseted and peplumed jackets, the dressed over cropped pants - they'll all look familiar to Givenchy fans. But everything was taken to a higher level: The execution was flawless and the clothes' dark allure was more intense than ever. The collection showcased Tisci's indisputable skills as a taylor, but it also underscored his experience as a couturier, even if the house no longer puts on a formal couture show. The final series of looks were ornately embroidered with jet beads - on a strapless bustier dress; on a slimline, bias-cut net gown; and on a pair of tailcoats with wide, short sleeves. You'll see the dresses on a red carpet sometime soon, very likely on one of tonight's front-row starts." - style.com
Chloé Fall 2015 #RTW #PFW
"The feel was far more straightforward than before, without sacrificing femininity; Waight Keller just decided not to pander to many of the fantasy clichés of it. 'To be modern, it has to be real,' said the designer after her show. 'I really wanted to capture something confident, but still with a carefree spirit. I can only describe the Chloé girl as a 'gentlewoman,' wearing guardsmen's coats and gentlemen's clothing, but still with the flou and lingerie lace. There is something clean and narrow about her silhouette, but still with fluidity to it.' The Chloé girl is becoming much more the subject who does and takes charge, rather than the object who looks pretty and floaty." - style.com
Céline Fall 2015 #RTW #PFW
"There is allegedly no such thing as coincidence, so presumably there's some meaning to the fact that Phoebe Philo was showing her new Céline collection on International Women's Day. 'The best part of this job is finding out more about myself,' she said after the show. 'It gets deeper and deeper into the roots.' And where those roots went deep today was into a new sense of playfulness. Big, fluffy pom-poms? Otters and foxed and deer as literal animal prints? Duvet coats? All that and more showed a new side of Céline. 'Dressed-up-ness,' Philo called it. 'I was never in the headspace to approach it before. I find glamour and sexuality awkward. When do they feel authentic? What's real, what's not?' Big questions. And Philo addressed them with a collection that, by her own admission, was a little Latin American. 'The blood is hotter,' she said. 'The approach is more dramatic.'" - style.com
