With Gurung's popularity blooming within the Fashion World, celebrities has also started loving the brand as much as Fashionistas. Being seen on celebs like Mila Kunis, Zoe Saldana, Jaime King, Diane Kruger, Ginnifer Goodwin, SJP, Amanda Seyfried and Jennifer Lawrence to name a few, Prabal Gurung has definitely made his presences known.
With that being said, I can honestly say that I was not the only one who was anticipating Prabal Gurung's Resort 2013 Collection to hit the runway. His use of colour, shape and drapery is evident in all of his designs and I was excited to see where he was going to take those elements with his next collection. Gurung was quoted saying "I wanted to bring together a juxtaposition of florals and severe angles" in his new collection, which was inspired by artist Aaron Moran (who's know for re-purposing decaying found materials). His use of severe angles were clearly visible in both the graphics in the fabrics and the way the garment itself was cut. Leaving his collection being, in his words, "not too cute, not too sweet". The collection contained around 38 pieces, which can be see in full here, however, I have included some of my favourite looks below.
