"THE Elie Saab woman's wardrobe was fully replenished for spring/summer 2014 this afternoon. She likes a sweeping, embellished chiffon gown; she likes jewel colours - this time in fuchsia, salmon pink or emerald, possibly encircled with a skinny matching belt. But the Lebanese designer offered more than the standard Oscar gowns this time around; one black silk story smothered in black, pink and green sequins had a more upbeat, disco feel than usual, while a black and white print carried green and pink florals growing up from the hem - which gave an edgier, younger feel to the collection. The run of black silk and lace tiered dresses had Dolce & Gabbana sex appeal too - this man knows how to make dresses that will make the red carpet cameras pop. It can be overly princessy at times but, tempered with roomy T-shirt dresses and a pretty poppy print, it had a welcome freshness too." - vogue.co.uk
