"Reem Acra has long been a power player on the eveningwear circuit thank to her well-known red carpet gowns and celebrity clientele, though for the past few seasons the designer has been reforming her collections by expanding her offerings of separates. "I like giving the customer the option to change and do what she wants," said Acra backstage. Her decision to switch up her collections comes at a good time: Gone are the days when "black tie" or "cocktail attire" were narrowly defined by a dress or a gown. Acra translated this change in eveningwear with an '80s theme, she said the inspiration was a "secret garden". Her separates were the standouts. Most of the skirt and top parings at first glance almost passed as full dresses. Acra played with shorter lengths, too. Her minidresses with the Edwardian lace and cascading collars were fun and playful. As usual, she excelled when it came to the gowns. For those heading to the red carpet, the blush pink organza number with glittering floral embroidery is bound to be a hit." - vogue.com
