Peplum and pattern, two of my favourite things for summer. Today was a busy day for me and I needed something comfortable yet chic that could get me from work to play. I styled my black peplum tank with blue dotted skinny jeans, black gladiator sandals, black boyfriend cardigan, and my staple silver watch and jewellery.  For hair and makeup I kept things au-naturale with lightly tasselled hair, winged eye liner, bold lashes, pink blush, and colourless lip balm.

Best Dressed at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards

My absolute best dressed of the night goes to Rita Ora wearing a baby blue Couture Alexandre Vauthier gown with feathered exaggerated train, black/white waist band, plunging neckline, thigh-high side slit, and long sleeved embellished bodice.  Completing her look were simple diamond earrings, black ankle strap sandals, straight blond bob, a nude lip, and fresh neutral eyes.

Katy Perry wearing an animal print Emanuel Ungaro embellished frock paired with black and gold sandals, simple jewellery, slick back high pony tail, a rose lip, and bronzed eye.  Lady Gaga wearing a custom Prabal Gurung gown with mesh train.  Long dark locks, a nude lip, and fresh 'un-Lady Gaga-like' makeup completed her H2T look.

Ciara wearing a white feathered Givenchy Couture gown with lightly waved hair, smokey eye, and nude lip.  Audrey O'Day wearing an extremely short button-up dress with exaggerated shoulders.  O'Day accessorised with white stilettos, white and black envelop clutch, emerald earrings, short blond bob, a smokey eye, and nude lip.  Taylor Swift wearing a navy Herve Leger column gown with a bold red lip, retro 20's up-do, gunmetal ring and bracelets, drop earrings, and matching red nails.

Holland Roden wearing a cream Naeem Khan gown-pant combo with embellished bodice.  Nude peep-toes, bold red lip, side parted up-do, and kohl rimmed eyes were the finishing touches.  Selena Gomez also in a navy gown, this time, by Atelier Versace.  Gomez styled with drop earrings, red nails and lip, straight blow out, and clear/black stilettos.

Nina Rivera wearing a black Vintage Paco Rabanne gown with side cutout.  Multiple rings, sultry makeup, straight blow out, and a nude lip completed her look.  Allison Williams wearing a cream Valentino frock with Christian Louboutin black stilettos, Paige Novick jewels, bouffant up-do, a smokey eye, and mauve lip.

Saturday Morning Surprise...

Waking up on Saturday mornings are already the best 1) you get to sleep in and 2) you have two full days off work to hang around and do whatever you want.  To add to this I was also the lucky winner of The Style Mogul's M for Mendocino $250 Gift Card Contest and got to meet the wonderful staff of the Bloor St West M for Mendocino location.  Located between Jane and Runnymede on Bloor St W in Toronto (2302 Bloor St West), this boutique offers amazing styles and quality for unbeatable prices. I would like to give another HUGE THANK YOU to Christina at The Style Mogul and to the wonderful staff at the Bloor St W location for making my shopping spree experience fun, easy, and extremely enjoyable!  Can't wait to come back and shop some more :)

Perrie Edwards at the World Premiere of One Direction: This is Us in London wearing a gorgeous black Patricia Bonaldi gown with lace cutout bodice.  Black strappy sandals, minimal accessories including a diamond sparkler, slicked back ponytail, bubble gum pink lip, and fresh makeup.  Lady Gaga outside of Z100 Radio to promote her upcoming album wearing a Balmain ensemble with Alaia boots, Tom Ford sunnies, ner short do, and a nude lip.  Olivia Wilde out promoting her upcoming move 'Drinking Buddies' with an appearance at the Late Show with David Letterman.  Wilde wore a white Theyskens' Theory cocktail dress with Christian Louboutin sandals, simple gold jewellery, a silver eye, nude lip, and lightly tasselled hair completed her look.

Jennifer Love Hewitt shoed off her baby bump at the Pampers 'Love Sleep & Play' Launch in Manhattan wearing a black Isabella Oliver maternity dress with black wedged sandals, new shorter do with bangs, a couple of bangles, a nude lip, and simply eye makeup.  Anna Wintour at the Moet & Chandon's 270th Anniversary Party in NYC wearing a bold floral Lanvin cocktail dress with Manolo Blahnic sandals, Roger Federer arm candy, statement choker, signature bob,  and flawless makeup.

Friday #ootd

This is the perfect 'casual friday' outfit, especially during the warm summer months.  A lot of people are iffy when it comes to dress shorts in the office, however if done right it can look very professional and chic.  Since shorts and short suits were all over the international runways for both men and women there are a lot of resources where you can get some inspiration if you are unsure of what to pair with them.  For me, I kept things simple with a navy blouse with daisy printed sleeves and collar tucked into my cream trouser short.  For accessories; silver studs and bracelets, boyfriend watch, and neutral espadrilles completed my head to toe look.

Thursday #ootd

Another day, another outfit!  This morning started off like any other: not wanting to get out of bed and thinking what should I wear today.  Since Toronto is going through a 'second summer' I figured I should probably take advantage of these last few warm days with a skirt and tank combo.  To be honest I completely forgot about this skirt and when I came across this oldie but goodie I got really excited about what I could style with it.  So... I paired my black polka-dotted teared skirt with a button front chartreuse blouse with scalloped edges, a neon multi-coloured statement necklace, my usual silver stack of bracelets and boyfriend watch, taupe and chartreuse strappy sandals, straight ombre hair, winged eyeliner, and a pink lip.  What's your favourite oldie but goodie that's in your closet?

Wednesday #ootd

Hey Fashionistas!  It's been a while since I've done an #ootd post and thought that it was definitely abut time to bring it back!  I love sharing my style with you and hopefully inspire some of your personal fashion choices.  So by popular demand lets get this show on the road.

Getting up was tough this morning after a late night out at CUBE Nightclub in Toronto for the Danier Leather Fall 2014 Fashion Show (Post coming soon!).  Unfortunately, PJs aren't on the dress code at work and therefore I had to pull it together, and what better way than with a mid-calf length dress from Anthropologie.  This dress is made from 100% Silk and is therefore super lightweight and comfortable, the elastic waist band helps cinch in my waist, creating shape and the bold pattern and colour make the dress extremely trendy but work friendly.  I kept my accessories and makeup simple with black suede Aldo pumps, Michael Kors silver boyfriend watch, multiple Tiffany & Co. silver bracelets, key pendent and stud silver earrings, straightened hair, black winged eyeliner, and pink cheeks and lips.

Oprah Winfrey at 'The Butler' Premiere in LA wearing a fuchsia body-con dress with simple silver earrings, metallic peep-toe pumps, signature curled do, smokey eye, and mauve lip.  Rachel McAdams on the red carpet at the Munich Premiere of 'About Time' wearing a black cut out Saint Laurent mini with Saint Laurent Mary-Jane pumps, Hermes cuff, bouffant undo, rose lip, and subtle smokey eye.
